MR. WILLIAM "AMP" ANTHONY MURPHY, SR. {49} was born on December 14, 1970 in Conway, SC to Mary Alice Bethea-Davis and the late William Anthony Murphy. He entered his eternal rest on Monday, January 6th, 2020 at Conway Medical Center. "Amp" attended Horry County School and graduated from Conway High School. He later served several years in the United States Army before being honorably discharged. He then attended Horry Georgetown Technical College and obtained his Certified Drivers License to become a truck driver. He was self-employed, subcontracting with Rooms-To-Go. "Amp" was a caring father, grandfather, compassionate brother, cousin and true friend to many. He was well-known for his dancing and love for music. He would do anything for anyone in their time of need. "Amp" leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Katina Lynch-Murphy; his mother, Alice {Thomas} Davis; three {3} children: Mikah Murphy and Tarajnae Murphy both of Seattle, WA and William Anthony Murphy, Jr. of Clarksville, TN; one {1} stepdaughter; five {5} stepsons; one {1} sister, CoSandra {Paul} Evans of Richmond, VA; three {3} brothers: Leon {Wanda} Nelson of Conway, SC, Charles Murphy of Savannah, GA and Willie {Tyra} Bethea of Columbus, OH; four {4} granddaughters; three {3} grandsons; five {5} sisters-in-law; three {3} brothers-in-law; three {3} aunts; two {2} uncles; one {1} special aunt, Patricia Ann Bethea-Strong who preceded him in death and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Mason Temple Church of God in Christ. Visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, January 10, 2020 at Ocean View Funeral Home Conway Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home Conway Chapel.
