Alfretha Michelle Johnson

Alfretha Michelle Johnson of Myrtle Beach passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2024. 

Ms. Alfretha Michelle Johnson, the daughter of Marcus Andrew Johnson Jr., and Wilhelmenia Collins Johnson, was born on November I I, I973, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Alfretha was affectionately known as "Michelle". Michelle didn't mind saying what she meant and showing you. Her favorite saying was "Cry out". When she felt that she had enough, she would tell you to cry out.

At an early age, Michelle found faith in God and attended services at Mt. Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She was a graduate of Myrtle Beach High class of I992. After graduating from high school, Michelle furthered her education at Dudley Cosmetology School in Kerrville, North Carolina.

Michelle was excited about becoming a beautician. This new career inspired her to relocate to Charleston, South Carolina. Michelle enjoyed making individuals look and feel great. She continued that career along with a brief work history with Boeing Aerospace Company.

Charleston is where Michelle began to live and enlarge her family. She was blessed with two children Damarrius and Zafirah Johnson. Her children were her life and motivation.

Michelle's life will grow in the hearts of her parents: Marcus Jr. and Wilhelmenia; her son Damarrius and daughter Zafirah; brother, Marcus III and nephews, Marquis and Markell; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and sorrowing relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Mt. Olive AME Church.  Interment will follow at Pine Island Community Cemetery.  There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Myrtle Beach Chapel.

The family will receive family and friends at 2416 Farmwood Circle, Conway, SC.
