Alvie Dozier was born on May 13, 1944, in Conway, South Carolina to the late Amos A. and Claudia Wolfe Dozier. At an early age, he joined Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. Alvie graduated from Chestnut High School in 1964.
On December 20, 1968, he was united in holy matrimony to Rosa Lee Crawford and they were blessed with two children, Gerald Dozier and Micherald Dozier.
Alvie worked at Myrtle Beach Seafood Market as a truck driver. In 1972, he became disabled from back surgery, and in 1995, he was diagnosed with heart failure.
Alvie was preceded in death by his siblings, Deac. Author M. Dozier, James H. Dozier, Christian Dozier, Lottie V. Pratt, Don Ethel McCray, Jane Ellen Dozier, and Nancy Felder.
Alvie leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Rosa Dozier; son, Gerald (Katrina) Dozier; daughter, Micherald Dozier; one granddaughter, Shanice Jeffery; six grandsons, Keisha Bennett, Jacquior Keith, Zarrel Bellamy, Anthony Dozier, Aundra Dozier, and Arron Dozier; one great-grandson, Zaylon Myers; one sister, Claudetta Rose of Charlotte, North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Janie Mae Booth, Aundra Booth, Evon Booth, Cindy Booth, Nina Crawford, Cheryl Crawford, and Willa Mae Crawford; brothers-in- law, Levie Crawford, Willie J. Crawford, and Jake Booth; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
