Anne Patricia Edgar

Anne P. Edgar, lovingly known as Mommy, Grand lady, Sister, and Aunt.  Anne was born December 27, 1944, to the late Jefferson Brown and Bertha Padget.

Anne called Orange, NJ her home for the better part of her life.   In her later years she relocated to South Carolina to reside with her oldest daughter Yvonne. 

Anne attended the Orange School System.  Anne graduated from the Berkeley School of Executive Secretary with Honors in Business & Executive Secretary.  She fully used her skill set in various positions. She often described her position at Hoffman-La Roche Inc, as one of her best opportunities to help other secretaries hone their skills.  Anne supervised 12 secretaries including those of the Vice President’s direct reports located in other areas of the company and in off-site locations.

Anne's life focus was without a doubt her four daughters.  Early on she ensured that each of her children were avid readers before they started school.  Anne had a weekly routine of taking her girls to the library.  She also ensured her girls had the life skills they would need to be successful in their respective careers.  Anne did not skip a beat when it came to socializing with family and friends.  She was always the consummate host, her girls enjoyed being Mommy’s little hostesses.  As a matter of fact, her youngest daughter Shawn Craige inherited the same skill set, and has taken it even further.

Anne departed this earthly life on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. Predeceased by: Jefferson Brown, Sr.(Father), Bertha Padgett (Mother), Jefferson Brown Jr. (Brother), Ernestine Crawley(Sister), Molly Davis(Sister), Yvette Edgar(Daughter), Tonya Crawley (Niece), Terry Crawley (Nephew);  She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Yvonne L. Williams (Lawrence), Marci McCray, Shawn Craig (Claude B. Craig Sr.); She leaves a strong legacy of pure love and nurturing of her nephews(2), nieces(2), grandchildren(8), great grandchildren(9) and a host of family and friends

Anne Patricia Edgar of Conway passed away on November 1, 2022. There will be a viewing held Wednesday, November 9, 2022, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Faith Temple Church COGIC in Conway. 

A Repast will follow the services at Mason Temple Banquet Hall, 1501 7th. Avenue, Conway, SC 29526.
