Arietta Smith

Arietta Smith was born on March 30, 1968, to Jerry L. Smith, Sr., and the late Rosetta Scott Smith in Conway, South Carolina. She passed peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2024, after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and friends during the last days of her life.

Arietta graduated from Conway High School and attended Coastal Carolina University. She loved her job working at Family Dollar as a store manager and briefly as a district manager. Even though she spoke her mind and told it like it was, she loved everyone like family. She was a great daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Arietta was preceded in death by her mother, Rosetta Scott Smith, as well as her brothers Barry N. Smith and Jerry L. Smith, Jr.

Arietta is survived by her father Jerry L Smith, Sr.; two children, Kayla Smith and Wesley McMillan; her son-in-law, Fredrick Bellamy; her grandchild, Maddox Bellamy. Arietta is also survived by her sisters and their spouses: Carolyn Smith of Conway, South Carolina, Wanda (Warren) Carter of Conway, South Carolina, and Larissa (Sofonias) Phillips of Columbia, South Carolina; her brothers, Tyrone (Debbie) Smith of Conway, South Carolina and Aves (Lisa) Smith of Columbia, South Carolina; godchild, Mylah Bethea and close friends, Mary Inman and Roger McMillan; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.  There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at  Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel.
