Audrey Ransom Moultrie Obituary

Audrey M. Ransom-Moultrie, born on January 15, 1953 in Conway, SC, was peace­fully called to glory on September 18, 2020. She was 'knee baby" to Mr. Mildson Daniel 'Pap" Ransom, Sr. and Mrs. Ardith Rutledge Ransom (Nana) and 2 siblings... beloved Mildson Daniel Ransom, Jr.(Bubba), and beloved Dollie Jane Bellamy Messer of Conway, SC.

Audrey, also known as "Lil Mama","Gypsy", and "Mirna", grew up in Conway, SC in Horry County where she attended public school and later moved to Newark, NJ where she graduated from Central High School, In 1971. She was involved in the following: Elected by her Central High School class as 'Did Most for Class", "Most Popular", member of the Business Club, and Debating Society. She enjoyed singing and acting.

After high school, Audrey attended Rutgers, Livingston Campus, New Brunswick, NJ for a year. As she moved along in her educational journey, she pursued her Associate Degree from Horry Georgetown Tech. Audrey's tenacity and desire to exemplify success to her family led her to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources from St Leo College, and then received a dual Master's Degree from Webster University in Counseling and Human Resources.

Audrey held a long tenure at Woodbridge State School, Woodbridge, NJ. In 1984, Audrey moved to Conway, SC to embark on a new life to raise her children and be with her close family. She joined Clean, Inc. in Buck-sport, SC, SC DHEC, Harty County Voter Registration Polling Precinct, served the community as a South Carolina Notary Public and finally retired after serving over 10 years with the Horry County Schools District, where she touched many students, parents and faculty lives leaving an everlasting impression. Was a longtime member of Bethel AME Church, Conway, SC, and later joined Bethlehem #1 Missionary Baptist Church, Sandridge Community, SC and was baptized August 10, 2012 by the Rev. Dr, Seamy Bridges and was a very active member of the marriage, music & drama ministries. She loved to cruise, road trips, working in her yard, had a passion for fashion, and loved to spend money.

She was preceded in death by beloved husband Glennie Haynes. She found happiness again and in 2014, Audrey married her love and best friend, James Edward Moultrie

She leaves to cherish her memory, her beautiful 2 children that meant the world to her and that she would go to the ends of the earth for: Che’Leon Ransom and Valentina Rose Ransom-Jenkins (Budd) who were both born in NJ. Her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly: Andre' Gagum, Shawntavia Hasty, Laquaysia Moses, Shanice Bryant, Shamiah Ransom, Hasien Ransom, Lexus Ransom, Che' L. Ransom, Carro James, Jordan Jenkins, Kennady Ransom, Jada Ransom and Demetrius Good, 3 Great-Grands: Storm Ransom, Star Ransom, Damion Flemming Jr., Her beautiful nieces: Charlene C. Messer (great niece, Leasia Hicks), and Dollie Jacqueline Messer (great niece & nephew, Nigel Gerald, Iabari(deceased), & Sheba) and Michelle Price (deceased). Her Special Friends and Family: Robert and Betty Dunn, S. Plainfield, NJ, Constance Miller, Ny, Susie Howard, Newark, NJ, Roslyn Russell(cousin), Jacksonville, FL, Bilquanetta Stanley-Ransom (1st daughter In-Love), and her Aunt Myrdith Alston, whom she adored. She also leaves a host of 1st cousins, close family, 6 Brother-in-Laws and her Father-in-Law, Alford Moultrie and friends that loved her.

 

 

Audrey Ransom Moultrie of Conway passed on September 18, 2020. There will be a funeral service 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Ocean View Funeral Home Conway Chapel. Ocean View Funeral Home Conway Chapel is in charge of arrangements .
