Barbara Bellamy

Mrs. Barbara Jane Vereen Bellamy entered her eternal rest early Friday morning on January 21, 2022, following an extended illness. Barbara was born February 16, 1940, to the late Morris Jefferson and Ellen E. Lewis Vereen in the Wampee section of Horry County, SC.

Barbara grew up in Cool Springs, SC where she attended Horry County Public Schools. At a young age she accepted Jesus Christ as her savior and joined St. Mathew Missionary Baptist church of Cool Springs, SC. Barbara worked faithfully as a member in many areas of the church, she loved to sing as a choir member. Barbara was joined in Holy Matrimony to Paul Robert Bellamy. She raised three children and besides being a devoted wife and mother, Barbara worked many jobs. She worked for Aynor Manufactory, Four Seasons, Horry County School district, school cafeterias. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and sister-in-law. She greeted you with a smile on her face.

Barbara was proceeded in death by her mother and father, seven brothers: Adam Vereen, Rullie Vereen, Lenwood Vereen, Ossie Vereen, Eugene Vereen, Gilbert Vereen, and Frank Vereen, five sisters: Rosana Vereen, Maybell. V Livingston, Ola V. Fore, Earline V. Hemingway, and Ida V. Steele.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Linda Diane Green of Little River, SC, Glenda Bellamy of Aynor, SC and Arthur (Tasha) Bellamy of Conway, SC, Grandchildren: James (Robyn) Bellamy, Nicholes Green, Jr., Paul (Brenda) Bellamy, Gaminsky Bellamy, Shelton Bellamy, Bobby (April) Bellamy, Demond Norman, Rakim Bellamy, Taraji Eaddy and Kaiden Hemingway, ten great-grandchildren, one sister Christine Vereen Jenks of North Myrtle Beach, SC sister-in-law Clara Mae Williams, brothers-in-law Oree Bellamy and Robert Lee Bellamy God daughter Elaine Rose and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Barbara Bellamy of Aynor passed on January 21, 2022. There will be a viewing held from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 28, 2022, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel.  Interment will follow at The Abigail Cemetery in Longs, SC.
