Brother Barry Fitzgerald Gause, son of the late Heyward and Martha Ann Gause-Vareen was born March 21, 1961, in Manhattan, New York. He entered into his demise in the early morning of Monday November 1, 2021, at his home residence.
He was a 1979 Graduate of North Myrtle Beach High School. He was inducted into the NMB High School Hall of Fame November 2, 2019, for his athletic ability on the 1977 Boys Track Team. He served in the military United States Army from June 1979 to April 21, 1986. He worked at OHM Environmental Services at various sites from 1997 to 2001 in Hopewell, New Jersey. He was the supervisor of the OSHA Hazmat Team during the 9/11/2001 World Trade Center disaster. He retired shortly afterwards and moved from Trenton, NJ January 2002. He joined Mt. Pleasant MB Church and served faithfully as chairman of the Trustee Board. He was a dedicated, devoted servant of God in all capacities.
Brother Barry wasn’t a person that showed suffering. His demeanor was portrayed with an uplifting spirit as a humble servant, that’s what kept him going. His favorite past time was listening to Motown 1960’s music.
He met the love of his life in 1992 while still living in Trenton, NJ. He married the former Rosilyn Catherine McLean on September 2, 2004. Brother Barry was proceeded in death by his sister Lula Cox.
He leaves to cherish precious memories his wife of 17 years Rosilyn Gause (Bae), 3 children Son Barry M. Gause Jr. (of the home), 2 daughters Crystal Tiggett of Little River, Dominque Chestnut and unborn little baby Andre of Wampee, 9 grandchildren: Ava, Leah, Angela, De’ja, Andrian, Queen, Damien, Taylor, and Cayden; 4 siblings: Gilbert Vereen of Las Vegas, NV, Sheila Burnett of Trenton, NJ, Hayward Vereen of Little River, SC, Deborah Vereen of Trenton, NJ; 5 sisters (of the home): Betty Jean Scott of Longs, SC, Alma Myers of Longs, SC, Thelma Gause of Little River, SC, Helen Keel of Longs, SC, and Beverly Gause of Conway, SC; 3 brothers (of the home) Sam Gause of New Haven, CT, David Peter Gause of Conyers, GA, and Floyd Gause of Trenton, NJ; 1 sister-in-law Natasha (Steven) Smith of Norristonn,, PA; 2 brothers-in-law Iven Ansley, and Burton Ford Alford both of Trenton, NJ; 1 special brother-in-law Jack T. Cox of Little River, SC; Aunt Flora Livingston, Uncle William J. Verren, and special friends: Van Lane, Lawrence Lang and Denver Wilson and a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Barry Fitzgerald Gause of Little River passed away on November 1, 2021. There will be a visitation held on Friday, November 5, 2021, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Myrtle Beach Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Little River.
