“God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain.” – Revelation 21: 4-
Mrs. Beulah Mae Vereen was born in Loris, SC, on November 22, 1950, to the late Mr. Leive and Mrs. Elnida Bellamy Gore. Our Heavenly Father called her home on May 10, 2025, at Conway Medical Center, in Conway, SC.
She was raised in Finklea, SC, and attended Horry County Public Schools. At an early age, Mrs. Vereen gave her life to Christ at Bristol Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Dothan, NC, where she had attended for many years. She continued her Christian faith and regularly attended the Popular AME Church. After high school, Mrs. Vereen entered the workforce, where she had several jobs. She worked as a baker for many years at Kroger until her retirement in 2003 to help care for her loving husband. Mrs. Vereen truly loved life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with family and friends. Mrs. Vereen had an uncanny ability to reach people deeply and positively through her smile. She was a loving and caring woman who always gave her time to others and incorporated that into her motherhood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Reverend James A. Vereen; five sisters: Callie Stephens, Doris Page, Lula Mae Johnson, Elnetha “Lucy” Gore, and Georgia Gore; five brothers: Samuel Gore, George Walter Gore, James Leverne Gore, Calvin Gore, and James Douglas Gore.
Beulah leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Felicia Vereen and her son, Toby (Kendra) Vereen; grandchildren, Torenzo, Tomario, To’Marco, Jalen, Kobe, and Sydney; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Ray Hemingway and Clerance Hemingway of Loris, SC; sisters, Betty Bennett of Iron Hill, NC, Elnetha Gause, Lucial Skinner, and Janice Gilbert of Loris, SC; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Azalea (Dennis) Neal of Wampee, SC, and Hazel (Norris) Hemingway of New Orleans, LA, Ethell (Martha) Vereen, Isiah (Loretta) Vereen, Issac Lee (LaShonda) Vereen, London Vereen, Revell (Charlie) Vereen, and Rodell (Vone) Vereen, all of Wampee, SC, Michael (Martha) Vereen of New Orleans, LA, Leroy Johnson, and many family and friends.
