Brenda Ann Johnson-Ford

Brenda Johnson Ford of the Cochran Community of Conway passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024. 

"To every thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven" Ecclesiastes 3:1

Brenda Ann "Steele" Johnson Ford, daughter of the late Jessie Ruth Steele was born on August

I957 in Conway, South Carolina. She gained her wings and took the Master's hand on April

2024 and entered eternal rest.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Greater St. James AME Church in Conway, South Carolina. Brenda was educated in the Horry County Schools and graduated from Conway High School in I975. She also attended Horry Georgetown Technical College. She worked for many years as a supervisor at the Schooner II and Racquet Club Hotel until her retirement in 2020. Brenda was a caring, kind, easy-going going, and loving person.

She was preceded in death by her mother; her aunt, Hazel Johnson; and four siblings, Noami Jones, Gail Johnson, William "Billy" Lawrence, and William "Bubba" Johnson.

Brenda leaves a lifetime of sweet memories to her son, Quantrell (Donna) Lamont Johnson; daughters, Kimala Johnson and Jeleisa Turner; ten grandchildren, TyQuan Johnson, Alexis Spain Wiser, Quantrell Jamal Johnson, DaeJohn Jones, Nina Johnson, Tamaria Johnson, Le'Bryanna Johnson, Bryan "BJ" Crawford, Jr., Jayden Crawford and Jaida Crawford; two great-grandchildren, Khalilya Franklin Johnson and Khalil Franklin; three sisters, Audrey Johnson Walker, Audrey (Anthony) McKoy and Brenda Huggins; four brothers, Charles DeLoach, Henry Huggins, Eric Huggins and Timothy (Benita) Spain; special close family members, Ethel Turner, Nancy (Lloyd) McClary Richard (Doris) Jones, John McClain, Eva Miller, and the family of Mrs. Hazel Johnson; close special friend, Willie Joe Holmes; caring and loving friend, Sally Sarvis Garrett; neighbors, Kenneth (Laura) Chestnut and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the Greater St. James AME Church in Conway.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel.

The family has requested that you may visit the home from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM from Thursday, April 11, 2024, to Monday, April 15, 2024.
