On Sunday, March 13, 2022, Carey F. Young transitioned to his heavenly home. Carey affectionately called Slim was born on June 26, 1957. Slim was educated in Horry County Schools. He enlisted in the United States Army. Slim made Myrtle Beach his home after retiring from the United States Army. Slim worked various odd jobs and enjoyed helping his friends by driving them around.
While sitting with his mother on March 06, 2022, Slim asked, “What is the meaning of communion?” After receiving an explanation his nephew prayed, his niece recited Luke 22:19-20, and Slim broke bread. He drank wine, asked for forgiveness, and prayed a prayer of thanksgiving.
Slim was united in Holy Matrimony to Mary Lee Felder Young on September 04, 1987. Slim remained a loving and dedicated husband until Mary’s transition.
In addition to his wife Mary, Slim is predeceased by his father Ralph W. Lewis Jr, one son Kenneth Grant, brother Clayton E. Lewis, and aunt Coatell Rice Linnen.
Slim was blessed to find love again and was united in matrimony to Siddia M. Hyman on September 23, 2019.
In addition to Siddia, Slim leaves to cherish his memories: his mother Mrs. Rebecca Lewis, one son Korey Young, one daughter Egypt Evans, one stepdaughter Felicia Gordan all of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one granddaughter Kendreyonna Grant of Easley, South Carolina; three sisters: Theresa (Bernard) Steward of Columbia, South Carolina, Ralphnette Lewis of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Suszette Lewis of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; three brothers: Antonio Lewis and Clinton Lewis of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Ralph (Glendale) Lewis III, of Newark, New Jersey; four aunts: Helene McDonald, Judy Brown, and Betty Washington all of Georgetown, South Carolina and Betty Godfrey of Bronx, New York; one great aunt: Yvonne Broadnax of Elizabethtown, North Carolina; one uncle Luther Linnen of Goose Creek, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law: Wanda Felder, and Patricia Felder of Conway, South Carolina; three brothers-in-law: MC Felder, Jessie James Felder, and Joseph Felder all of Conway, South Carolina. Slim leaves a host of, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Carey Ferdinand Young of Myrtle Beach passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Myrtle Beach Chapel.
