Carolyn Jones

Carolyn Jones of Bucksport passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.

"A light from our house is gone. A voice that we loved is silent. A place is vacant in our home that can never be filled"

Carolyn Cianita Graham Jones fought a good fight and now the victory is hers. As her daughter stood beside

her during her transition, there was a spirit of calmness, an unspoken expression that said, "I have won, now let me go."

On Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at 1:20 p.m. God called one of his precious children home. Our mother, Carolyn Juanita Graham Jones, affectionately called "Juanita" was born January 7, 1934, in Bucksport, SC to the late Douglas and Edna Mae Davis Graham. Juanita was the 7th of 21 siblings. She was united in marriage to the late Jessie Fred Jones on July 26, 1953. Through this union, they were blessed with 5 children.

Juanita accepted Christ at a very early age and joined Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church where she remained faithfully until her health began to fail. She graduated from Whittemore High School in Conway, SC with the class of 1951. Juanita was a member of the Senior Choir and director of the Youth Choir. She was a warm-hearted, devoted, giving servant of God. She worked for more than 43 years at Aberdeen Curtain Factory in Conway, SC. She received her Certified Nursing Assistant Diploma from Horry Georgetown Technical College in 1976.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Edna Graham; husband, Jessie Jones, Sr.; one daughter and three sons.

Memories of Juanita will be cherished by her children, Joyce (Levi) Mack of Myrtle Beach, SC, Wanda Graham of Conway, SC, Loretta Jones (Tom) White of Conway, SC, and Abigail (Roy) Floyd of Maryland; three bond children, Enricas Graham, Jimmy Wearing of Conway, SC and Trevor Wearing of Columbia, SC; three sisters, Virginia Blackmon of New Haven, CT, Princess Ann Graham of Newark, NJ and Teresa Graham of Conway, SC; two brothers, Albert (Libby) Graham of Marion, SC and Donnie Lee Rose) Graham of Conway, SC; adopted sisters, Deborah Graham of Charleston, SC, Tammy Burnett of Charlotte, NC, Margie (Kenny) McCray of Conway, SC, Sylvia Graham of Conway, SC and Princess Brown of Newark NJ; adopted brothers, Vantous Graham of Georgetown, SC and Maurice Graham of Columbia, SC; three sisters-in-law, Peggy (Melvin) Spruill, Rosenell Graham, and Pauline Moore, all of Conway, SC; special friends, Vivian Miller and Gloria Hunt; nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 8, 2023, at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.  There will be a visitation from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, Mary 7, 2023 at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel.
