Catherine Jean Brown passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. 

Celebration of Life

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more

death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain.”

Ms. Catherine Jean Brown, daughter of the late Robert Brown and Blanch Harris Calhoun, passed away on July 5, 2022. Catherine spent well over 20 years residing at Horry County Ladies Residence in Conway, SC before being transferred to Coastal Regional Center in Summerville, SC.

Ms. Brown is preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Blanch and Jimmy Calhoun, and two brothers, Roger Lee and James Allen Brown.

She leaves to cherish her sweet memories, one brother, Quinton L. (Sheila) Calhoun of Bayboro, SC. One aunt, Dorothy Harris of Newark, NJ. One uncle, Cecil Harris of Hampton, VA. Three nieces: LaTeea Robinson of Newark, NJ. Tiffiany Calhoun of Summerville, SC. Brittiany Calhoun of Bayboro, SC. As well as a host of other sorrowing family and friends.

God saw you getting weary
So He did what He thought was best.
He came and stood beside you and whispered, “Come and rest.”
You wished no one a last farewell nor ever said good-bye.
You were gone before we knew it,
and only God knows why.
When God called you home to rest,
you didn’t go alone.
For a part of us went with you,
that day God called you home.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Ocean View Ocean Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel and there will be a viewing one hour prior to the service starting at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
