Celeste Parker Obituary

Celeste Marcellar Parker was born on July 12, 1967, to the union of George and Edith Parker in Conway, South Carolina, where she has lived her entire life. On Sunday, June 7, 2026, Celeste surrendered to her  battle and embraced eternal rest surrounded by her family.

Celeste received her education in the Horry County School System. She gave her life to God and became an active member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to church whenever she could, even when she was sick. That was one of her greatest joys, and she loved her church family. Celeste was a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, and caring friend with a big heart. She enjoyed singing, dancing, eating seafood, especially blue crabs, fishing, nurturing her many plants, and playing a good game of spades, which she was very good at and mostly undefeated. But more than anything, she loved her grandchildren, and she loved spending time with them.

Celeste was preceded in death by her father, George H. Parker.

Celeste leaves to cherish her precious memories six children, Reginald Mitchell of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Gwendolyn Parker of Georgia, Shawnta (Chris) Llorence of Chicago, Antwan Parker of Conway, South Carolina, Michael (Ashley) Parker of Virginia, and Anlameesha Parker of Conway, South Carolina; her loving mother, Edith Parker, of Conway South Carolina; eight sisters, Jackie Campbell of Ohio, Gwen Davis, Linda Swinton, Carolyn Rhue (Lonnie), Georgia (Thomas) Hemingway, Sarah (James) Chestnut, all of Conway and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Janet Evans of Tampa, Florida, and Flettie (Canute) Adams of Georgia; four brothers, Howard (Raynise) Parker, William (Candice) Parker, Jamie Givens, and Jeremiah Parker all of Conway, South Carolina; a very special aunt, Della Doctor of Miami, Florida; seventeen grandchildren, two special sisters, Ann Grissett and Sherry Brunson of Conway, South Carolina; three special friends, Anthony Price, Jefferey Rush, and Aurthur Brown all of Conway, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family and dear friends who will always cherish her memory.
