Charles Cook, Jr. Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Edwin Cook Jr. on August 7, 2024, at the age of 76.

Charlie was born on November 12, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland, and lived a life marked by service, dedication, and unwavering faith.

Charlie proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, demonstrating courage and commitment to the values he held dear. After his military service, he embarked on a long and dedicated career with the United States Post Office, where he worked for 30 years. His reliability and strong work ethic were evident to all who knew him.

In retirement, Charlie continued to serve his community by driving a school bus, a role that brought him great joy as he interacted with and supported the young people in his community. His love for helping others extended to his church, where he served faithfully for many years, always ready to lend a hand or share a kind word.

Charlie was a man who deeply valued family and friendships, always willing to help out in any way he could. He had a particular passion for construction projects, where his skills and generosity were a blessing to many. Charlie also loved music, which filled his life with joy and comfort. Whether it was listening to his favorite music or making up a silly song of his own, music was a source of peace and inspiration for him. Additionally, he loved the great outdoors and found peace in camping trips, where he could enjoy the simple pleasures of life.

Above all, Charlie loved the Lord, and his faith was a guiding force throughout his life. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Laura, and his children, Ashley Alexander (Charlie), Adam Cook, and Brittany Wanger (John), who will cherish his memory and carry on his legacy. Charlie was also a devoted grandfather, and his many grandchildren will miss him dearly.

Charlie is preceded in death by his children, Joshua Guido and Amanda Guido, and his grandson, Shane, who he is now reunited with in Heaven.

Charlie’s life was a testament to the power of faith, love, and service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
