Charles Richardson Obituary

Charles J. Richardson of the Bucksport Community passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023.

In the afternoon of Sunday, April 16, 2023, at 2:37 pm Charles Richardson, Jr., a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away. He was 82 years old. He was born to the late Charles Richardson, Sr., and the late Pearline Fisher. Charles was born in Miami, Florida where he accepted Christ at an early age at the Miami Church of God of Prophecy. Charles attended Miami-Dade County Public Schools and graduated from Miami Northwestern Senior High School. Charles began working at an early age building houses with his father. With his work ethic and the building construction his father taught him, he became a building construction teacher at the Miami Dorsey Skills Center where he taught electrical and plumbing for many years. In the 70's he decided it was time to leave Miami Dorsey Skills Center and begin teaching at Madison Middle School. Charles was a woodshop teacher that enjoyed working with middle school students creating projects to enter in the Miami-Dade County Youth Fair and in competition with his students locally and across the United States. After 20 years with the Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Charles felt that it was time to start his business building and renovating houses. Charles was a one-stop shop for the building and renovation of homes. He had a work ethic like no other. He worked from sunup to sundown to get the job done.

One son, Antonio Richardson; three siblings, Henrietta Symonette, Edna Rolle, and Alfred Richardson; two aunts, Debris Fobes, and Hazel Fisher-Mendigo; three uncles, William Fisher, James Fisher, and Dr. Carlton Fisher all preceded him to the grave.

Charles leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife Juliet Johnson-Richardson of Bucksport, South Carolina; ten children of Miami, Florida that will miss him dearly, Marisa Beck, Pearline (Charles) Fashaw, Marcia Richardson, Charles (Diane) Richardson III, Raymond (Phyllis) Richardson, Mark (Daphne) Richardson, Elliott (Jamie) Johnson, Sheldon Richardson, Charlene Richardson, Shannon Richardson; five siblings that loved him profoundly, Francina H@ Janet Thomas, Helen Moss, Jacquelyn Green and Shirley Richardson all of Miami FL; one aunt, Melvna Gibson; mother-in-law Virginia Williams of SC; two sisters-in-law, Clementine (Harold) McCray and Rosemary Richardson; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Charles will be missed by his family and friends.
