Charles A. Wilson of Conway passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023.

Charles Alfred Wilson, affectionately known as "Chuck", was the fourth child of the late Jack and Lillie Wilson. Charles was born in Washington, D.C. on May 20. I944 and was called to his heavenly home on July I4, 2023.
Charles attended the public schools in Washington, DC, and attended Phelps Vocational High School where he majored in Auto Body Mechanics. After high school, Charles joined the US Army stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC, 82' Airborne as a paratrooper. He was deployed on two separate tours to Vietnam during that horrific war. After his service to his country, he worked for Sears Roebuck and Company in appliance repair and the Aerospace Museum as a technician.
Charles was known for his beautiful singing voice. He sang with the McDaniel Gospel Singers of Washington, DC. In addition, he was asked to sing on many programs and funerals. Charles could be heard at family functions singing with his mother and brother Carl, evoking the Holy Spirit.
In 2006, Charles and Sherrie moved to Conway, SC to start a new life, and to be near family; he loved the beach.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Woods Wilson; parents, niece, Monica Hanna Butler, and brother, Carl David Wilson.
Charles leaves many in God's care to cherish his memory. He leaves his loving and caring wife Sherrie Spriggs Wilson; daughter, Chante Wilson Flowers; sons, Carlos A. Wilson and Christopher Spriggs (Katrece); grandchildren, Gregory (Khaatim. a), Chyna (Anthony), Charlee, and Chamar Flowers, Sean and Demetris Wilson, London and Juel Spriggs; great-grandchildren, Nova, Aaliyah, Aniyah and Aneesa; loving siblings, Patricia Hanna, Geraldine Muldrow, Jack F. Wilson, Betty Wilson-Jones, Anthony and Delano Wilson; brothers-in-law, Eric (Toni) Morman and Cornell Morman; nieces and nephews, Donna Gallmon, Mark Muldrow, Kevin (Michalyn) Hanna, Anthony (Adrianne), A'aron (Crystal), Everette Wilson, Brandi (Michael) Cameron, Joshua (Ashayla) Williams, Shannon Brown and Paul Long; god sister, Apostle-Bishop Barbara C. Moore and a host of grand nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Special friend and help to the family, Gary Stewart.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on July 25, 2023, at The Refuge. There will be a viewing 1 hour prior to the services. The burial will be at 2:00 PM at Florence National Cemetery. Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel.
