Mr. Clinton Lee Earl Hemingway was born to the late Mr. James Pernell Hemingway and Mrs. Carrie Lee Hemingway on July 12, 1950, in the Popular Community of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Clinton was the third child born of 13 children.
He attended Carver High School. His favorite sport was baseball, where he held the position of shortstop on the field. Later, he moved to Kansas City to join the Job Corps, where he pursued his passion for plumbing and mechanics, allowing him to manage his own janitorial business.
Mr. Clinton joined Shields Chapel Fire Baptized Holiness Church, where he served on the usher board, sang in the choir, assisted in the kitchen, and was the church custodian. He was a jack of all trades.
In 1971, Clinton married Ms. Minnie P. Beese of Pawley’s Island, South Carolina. Together, they made a loving home and were blessed with five beautiful children.
One daughter, Sonya Irvin; one sister, Sharon A. Ford; one brother, Charles K. Hemingway; two nephews, Anthony Tony Hemingway and Charles K. Hemingway, preceded him in death.
Mr. Clinton leaves to cherish his lasting memories his mother, Carrie Lee Hemingway; his wife, Minnie P. Hemingway; his beautiful children, Stephanie Barr of Myrtle Beach, SC, Clinton Hemingway of Denver, CO, Martin (Monique) Hemingway of Houston, TX, and LaTonya (Christopher) Stephens of Lexington, SC; his beloved grandchildren, Rachel Barr (Sam) Millhouse of Myrtle Beach, SC, Alexis Barr of Myrtle Beach, SC, Tre “Deja Hemingway of Houston, TX, Isiah Isom and Elias Isom both of Myrtle Beach, SC, Marquel (Samantha) Goings of Columbus, GA, Amiyah (Joshua) McFadden of Lexington, SC, Shaheem (Shamice) Stephens of Houston, TX, LJ Gibson of Lexington, SC, Malachi Hemingway of Houston, TX, and Cameron Stephens, Of Lexington, SC; many beautiful great grandchildren; his siblings, Johhny (Brenda) Hemingway of Atlanta, GA, James Hemingway of Marion, SC, Fannie L. Fulton of Myrtle Beach, SC, Rev. Elizabeth Bowens of Surfside Beach, SC, Michael (Renee) Hemingway of Allendale, GA, Elder Charleather Greene of Warner Robins, GA, Pricilla Leza of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Margaret (Jack) Gore of Little River, SC, Marylin Hemingway of Fayetteville, NC, and Gibb Hemingway of Little River, SC; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and sorrowing friends.
