Courtni McCallum if Myrtle Beach passed away on March 9, 2023.

Courtni Syreeta McCollum was born on the special day of April 1, 1980, as the baby daughter of Ruthena Greene and Gerald Watts. Courtni was a very shy, loving, quiet, and soft-spoken sister, niece, friend and co-worker. On March 9, 2023, Courtni died peacefully surrounded by love ones.

Courtni was raised along with her older sisters, Tammy McCollum and Chante Campbell, in Myrtle Beach, SC where she spent her formative years. She was very wise and excelled academically. After graduating from Myrtle Beach High School in 1999, Courtni would go on to further her education at the American Intercontinental University in Atlanta, GA, and graduate with honors with her bachelor’s in business administration and management in 2006.

Courtni had a great love for basketball which she showcased as a point guard for the Lady Seahawks. She would go on to work as a track coach at Socastee High School where she cultivated the next generation of athletes. Courtni enjoyed eating, had a passion for reading, loved spending time with her family and delighted in a good laugh or joke.

Courtni was a faithful and dedicated member of Life Outreach Church and Ministries in Myrtle Beach, SC. She served as the assistant youth president. Courtni loved God and shared the love of Jesus Christ to everyone she came in contact. She had a great love for the youth and the older generation. Courtni had a very giving heart, and she was loved by many.

Courtni was a hard worker, educated, and most of all saved. She made a great impact on her loving family and was a joy to be around. Courtni was very active in her community and loved by all. She will be greatly missed.

Courtni was preceded in death by her loving stepfather, Alfred Green, and her aunt, Linda Arnold.

Courtni leaves to cherish her memory her loving parents, Ruthena Green and Gerald (Georgia) Watts of Myrtle Beach, SC; her two loving sisters, Tammy McCollum and Chante Campbell of Myrtle Beach, SC; one niece, Miracle McCollum; two nephews, Reshaun McCollum, and Shamar McCollum; nine aunts, Hester McKnight of Columbia, SC, Sandra (Glenn) Funderburke of Lawrenceville, GA, Teresa Smith of Lithonia, GA, Tari McCollum of Durham, NC, Deborah Watts, Debbie Watts, Marie Watts, and Cheryl Watts of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Etheridge Mary Myers of Conway, SC; four uncles, Ronnie (Donna)Graves and Robert Watts of Myrtle Beach, SC, George (Vanessa) Watts of Bridgeport, CT, and James (Sandra) Brockington of Florence, SC; and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church.  Interment will follow at Pine Island Community Cemetery.  There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Myrtle Beach Chapel.
