Cynthia Felton Obituary

Cynthia Felton aka Simp transitioned peacefully on June 28, 2024, at Grand Strand Regional Hospital in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Cynthia was born in Brooklyn, New York to Maggie Bell Deaver and Roland Deaver on December 17, 1959. Cynthia was raised in Brooklyn New York surrounded by all of her mother's family in a very close-knit community. Cynthia received a formal education from the New York City Public School system and with encouragement from her family entered the New York City Healthcare System. After years of working at Interfaith Medical Center as a Phlebotomist and lab technician, she later continued her education to earn a Nursing degree in the state of New York. In 1979 she married Johnny Felton, and they blended their families. Cynthia was known as the life of the party; she loved to sing and dance, especially to R. Kelly, but she never strayed too far from her mother whom she considered her best friend. She loved her family dearly and was always willing and ready to help anyone in need, family often ended up at her house after every holiday whether playing spades or eating her delicious food and singing karaoke. She remained in Brooklyn until retirement in 2006 when she moved to Myrtle Beach, SC to be closer to her children. She enjoyed life through laughter, her life of the party personality provided many wonderful memories for all of her family and friends.

Cynthia Felton was preceded in death by her loving mother and family matriarch Maggie Bell Deaver and Father Roland Deaver. Cynthia is also preceded in death by her husband Johnny Felton, siblings Randy Williams (Sheila), James Roland (aka Budd), Felicia Deaver and her grandson Giovanni (Michael). Cynthia leaves to cherish her memories her life partner, Newell Favor, her four children, Michael Deaver (Melissa), Travis Deaver, Elyse Deaver ( Lee Dale), and Newell Favors Jr, her grandchildren Travis Jr(Travis), Michael jr (Michael), Sincere (Elyse), Amir (Michael), Miracle (Michael), Leigha (Elyse), Kennedy (Travis), Malachi (Michael) and Legend (Elyse); her siblings, Annie, Frankie (Diane), Eddie (Janice), Patrica (Roy) and Steven (Theresa), 2 aunts Barbara Ann Holley and Callie Williams and a special niece she considered a daughter, Ashley Clarke.
