Damon Wilson Obituary

Damon M. Wilson of Longs passed away on May 8, 2023. 

Lamon Wilson was born on April I, I990 to Truman Dewitt and Macoundal Wilson in Loris, South Carolina. He was affectionately called "Quez" by many of his family and friends. On Monday, May 8, 2023, God called Damon's name and he answered.

Damon joined  Myrtle Hill Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where he sang in the Youth Choir. Damon attended the public schools of Horry County and was a 2008 graduate of Loris High School. Upon graduation, Damon entered the workforce working various jobs. He especially enjoyed working the family's business at Wilson's Auto Service referring to himself as "The Shop Boy Quez" and thought he was the "BOSS". He also loved fishing, hunting, and repairing ATVs and dirt bikes.

Quez was a loving and caring person who showered everyone he met with his unconditional love.  He was preceded in death by his grandmother Haylestine Dewitt, a brother, Taizuan Dewitt; three aunts, Shonda Dewitt, Vema Dewitt, and Stacy Wilson; two uncles, Jearey Wilson, and Randy Dewitt. Damon laves to cherish his loving memories, his parents, Truman Dewitt and Macoundal Wilson; his brothers, Garrett (Quamaisha) Wilson of Columbia, South Carolina and Devin Wilson of Longs, South Carolina; his sister, Tiazia Dewitt of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; a special loved one, Eshia Nariah Bennett of Conway, South Carolina; Maternal grandparents, Bertie and Irma Wilson; nephews, Chaseton Dewitt, Respect Vereen, Mateo Bell and Miles Wilson; Nieces, Jurnee, Justice, Devyn, Tre'Lasyah Wilson and Malasia Bellamy; a special aunt, Ronette W. Kelley of Longs, South Carolina; aunts, Marshell Dewitt, Janine Hal of Conway, South Carolina, Sheavon Ingram of New Jersey and Pat (Steve) Myers of Columbia, South Carolina; uncles, Ulysses (Mabel) Dewitt of Longs, South Carolina, Ben Dewitt of Longs, South Carolina, Alvin (Margie) Watson of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Anthony Chestnut; special friends, Leon Vereen, LaQushia Deberry, Deontray Hemingway, Eugene Gerald, Levon Edwards, James Washington,  Sheldon Brown and Cam Ford. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.

The family of Damon "Quez" Wilson would like to thank everyone for the great comfort of sympathy conveyed to us in many ways. We appreciate your thoughtfulness and thank you most sincerely.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Myrtle Hill Baptist Church.  Interment will follow at McNeil Chapel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel.
