Daniel Kelly

Daniel Kelly of Longs passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024. 

Mr. Daniel Robert Kelly affectionately known as "Robert" was born on February 7, 1947, in Shelby, North Carolina to the late Barzell Kelly and Elwillie Kelly. He was also raised by Ms. Alvelonia Kelly after his mother death at an early age.

Robert accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and walked with Him under the leadership of Pastor Solon Chestnut at Full Gospel Community Church until Monday afternoon on July 1, 2024, when he departed this earthly life. Robert was a faithful member who loved his pastor and his church family. Robert at Full Gospel served as a Deacon, he sung in the choir, and played the drums. He was employed with Myrtle West Golf Course (Blackbear) for twenty-three years until retirement. Robert was loved and he cared for many. Robert was married to Martha Faye Kelly for thirty-nine years.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Barzell Kelly Jr aka BK, Ernest Kelly, Kate Lou Gregory, and Annie Mae Foster.

Robert leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Marth Faye Kelly; his children, Tonya Buck, Robin Kelly, and Robert Jr. Kelly all of Longs, SC; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; his siblings, Josephine (Robert) Degree, Roosvelt (Lolamae) Kelly and Rachel Hutkey; a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends; special friends, Patrick Wilkinson, Pastor Chestnut, Ms. Clara Vereen and Gin Williams.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Full Gospel Community Church.  There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Friday, July 5, 2024, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, North Strand Chapel.
