David Allen Bourgeois

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of David Allen Bourgeois 67, longtime resident of Longs, SC, on Sunday, June 14, 2026, after a valiant fight against cancer. David embarked on his journey to his Heavenly home with his loving family by his side.

David was born on January 17, 1959, in New Bedford, MA. He was the loving son of the late

Henry and Patricia Bourgeois. In addition, was cherished and devoted husband to Ana

Matos-Bourgeois.

David was a dedicated member of Speedway (7-Eleven LLC) management for over 25 years. He loyally served as General Manager of Speedway 4585 (Hwy 9 Little River) and was admired and loved by his employees and customers alike. Throughout his distinguished career, David built and led teams with passion and pride, helping employees achieve their best. He also mentored many employees, enabling them to further their careers and find their own place in the ranks of Speedway Management. David "retired" in 2024, but we guess you could take David out of Speedway, but not Speedway out of our David, as he then went to work alongside the Speedway 4590 (Hwy 90, Longs) crew right up to the time his illness would no longer permit.

While David enjoyed his motorcycle, engaging with his friends/customers, tinkering around the house, and making people laugh, NOTHING was more important to him than family. David was the adored husband of the love of his life, Ana Matos-Bourgeois, his spouse of over 26 years. He would never miss an opportunity to tell everyone about how proud he was of his children: sons, Mark and Justin Bourgeois, both of MA; his daughter, Jessica Bourgeois Jarden of Va.; and his stepdaughter, Jodi Ann Correia of FL. He loved being a grandpa to his 4 grandchildren. David loved his siblings dearly; those left to cherish his memories are his brother, Chris Bourgeois, and his sister, Joan Bourgeois, both of MA, and his "Baby sister," Corrine Bourgeois of NC. David also leaves his special buddy, Angel, his devoted pup.

David also leaves a wealth of family, friends, and colleagues who will not soon forget his sweet smile, infectious laugh, understanding, or willingness to help a fellow human being. Of special mention, he had a deeply rooted respect and admiration for members of law enforcement, the first responder community, and past/present members of the military.

Rest well, David, we love you, until we see you again.......

There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, North Strand Chapel.
