For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." 2Cor.5.1
Denise Cedre Vereen, the daughter of the late John D and Julia Hodge Vereen was born August 1, 1970. She departed this earthly life on January 9, 2025, at Mcleod Seacoast Hospital following a sudden illness.

She later moved back to Horry County and was employed as a Bus Driver with the Horry County School District.
“Niecy” loved music, she was gifted with a beautiful voice and a joyful spirit that touched many hearts. She sang on the Mt. Zion Voices of Praise Choir, and she was once signed to the record label Illest Intertainment and released her own CD. She was featured on BET’s Sundays Best. Whether “Niecy” was singing in the church choir or performing on stage, her voice had the power to move and inspire.
Her radiant smile and infectious laughter had a way of brightening even the darkest of days. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and she absolutely loved her children.
