Diane D. Catoe

On Friday, July 24, 2020, Diane Catoe, passed away at age 70. She was born on December 23, 1949 in Horry County South Carolina.

Diane was the mother to three children: Anne McCabe, Amy Brown, and Teresa Catoe whom she raised in Arlington County, Virginia where she lived for 30 years. She moved back "home" to Horry County in 2000.

Diane was an active member of Clarendon Baptist Church in Arlington, VA and at Forestbrook Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach, Virginia.  She enjoyed dancing, sewing, cross stitch, reading, traveling, gardening, being with friends, and raising her girls. She volunteered with the kid’s church youth groups, at both church homes, Girl Scouts, sports clubs, and any other activity the girls found themselves involved in. Diane enjoyed creating a keeping a beautiful home and garden. She was often thought of as the "second mom" to many of the girl’s friends as she had the ability to open her heart and home and love on anyone that came in.  She loved to give gifts and her time to help others. Diane worked as a child care provider in the home when her children were small and as a bookkeeper for a service station in Arlington, VA and a real estate company in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Diane is remembered by many for her smile, kind heart, her love for her children and grandchildren, and love for God.  She is preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, and 1 sister. She is survived by her 3 daughters, 10 grandchildren, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held at a future time where she requested a celebration of her life.
