God dispatched one of his angels to his eternal home when the trumpet of God sounded and received Donald Jean Massey unto himself on November 01, 2024.
Donald was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina on August 03, 1957 to the beloved parents of Maggie Massey and Charlie Conner. Donald attended Rock Hill High School, after which he enrolled at York Technical College. Donald joined the Army and he served until being honorably discharged .
Donald’s professional career began at Keystone Substance Abuse Services and years later, he joined the staff of the Grand Strand Medical Center as a Certified Nurse Assistant Technician. While serving at Grand Strand Medical Center, he enrolled in the nursing program and was awaiting to take his test for completion.
Donald married the love of his life Ellen Massey and together they lived their dream. Donald dedicated his life to the Lord at an early age and was an example of Christ’s love. Donald loved his family and friends and brought joy to all who knew him. Donald loved to dance and his smile, jokes, and laugh would light up the room.
Donald was preceded in by: His Father Charlie Conner and his Grandparents Dellie Massey and Emma Massey. Donald leaves to cherish his wife Ellen Massey; a special love Sylvia Massey; Three sisters: Brenda Sims (Henry) of Columbia, S.C., Mary Massey of Rock Hill, S.C., and Patrice Thompson of Rock Hill, S.C.; Four Brothers: Ronald Massey (Twin Brother) of Rock Hill, S.C., Roger Massey ( Charlene) of Rock Hill, S.C., Chris Massey ( Vickie) of Rock Hill, S.C., and Patrick Massey (Danielle) of Rock Hill, S.C.; Best Friend Levonne Thompson, Special Phone Friends: Eleanor Page (Aunt) and Ruby English (Cousin); Special Nephews: Devion (Nuke) Hinton, Hosea Garvin, Travis Pettie; and a Host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and friends.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. -2 Timothy 4:7-8
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Mt. Olive AME Church. Interment will follow in Ocean Woods Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the church. Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Myrtle Beach Chapel is assisting the Massey Family.
