Mr. Donald “Dino” Black, a resident of Lithia Springs, Georgia departed this life and entered into Eternal rest unexpectedly after an illness on Monday, October 25, 2021, in Georgia. Donald was born in the Bronx, New York on June 9, 1965, to the late Lillie Belle Graves Black and Charles Green.
In his early childhood, Donald enjoyed playing the game of basketball in the New York City parks. During his teenage years, Donald moved to live with his grandmother, Carolyn G. Brown, in Conway, SC. He attended Conway High School where he played varsity basketball. After graduating high school in 1983, Donald attended Fayetteville State University. He joined the United States Navy for a short time. Donald relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina, where he worked as a Manager for Pizza Hut. In the late 90’s, Donald moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he worked as an Accounting Specialist for BlueLinx Corporation.
Some of Donald’s hobbies include cooking, photography, watching sports, and electronics. While he enjoyed those hobbies, he took a special interest in photography. He took pictures all around the Atlanta metro area, eventually turning this interest into a business.
Donald was resilient, articulate, talented, unique, and handsome. He was stubborn but sweet and kind. He had a beautiful spirit that did not allow for any foolishness. He was quiet but outspoken when needed. Donald was an amazing soul, and his presence will forever be missed.
Donald is preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Black, his grandmother, Carolyn G. Brown, and uncles Tommy and Earl Brown. He leaves to mourn his passing: one brother, Charles “Stinky” Green of Utica, NY; one Aunt -Mary Baker of Queens, NY, four Uncles - Herbert Brown, Jr., John Brown, Jesse Brown, Glen Pee all of Conway, SC; four great-aunts - Victoria Scott of Shaker Heights, OH, Mary Louise Weathers of Georgetown, SC, Eva Myers (Norman) of Georgetown, SC, Clara (Charles) Stephens of Hemingway, SC, one great-uncle - Allen (Oney) Graham, Sr. of Angier, NC; two nephews, one niece, and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends. He also leaves to mourn his special sisters as he regarded, Lauren Ballen, Sabrina Juan cito, and Constance Busbee.
Donald "Dino" Black passed on October 25, 2021. A viewing will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday October 29, 2021 at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel. There will be a graveside service held 1:00 p.m. Saturday October 30, 2021 at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Conway. Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory will be assisting this family.
