Doris Boone Obituary

Doris Lefolia Vereen Boone was born on November 11, 1953 in Conway, SC, daughter of the late Generette H. Moore and Dorothy B. Vereen Moore. She departed this earthly life on January 19 2022.

Doris accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of PopularAME Church. She attended Popular Training school and was a graduate of Chestnut Consolidated High School Class of 1971.

Doris then relocated to Seattle, Washington where she joined the Church of God in Christ and remained a faithful member until she returned to South Carolina. Doris served thirty-four years as a parking enforcement officer for the Seattle Police Department, Seattle, WA. She also served twenty years in the United States Army and retired as a Sergeant served in Operation Desert Storm.

Doris was a leader, intelligent, fun, organized, meticulous and a loving person. She stood for excellence. She was a firm believer in caring for others and extending her love.

Doris leaves cherished memories to her loving daughter, Venicia P. Gore of Seattle, WA; two grandsons, Rashad A. Burger of Chicago, IL, and Andra Gary Jr. of Auburn, WA; one granddaughter, Masiah Lowe of Seattle, WA; four siblings, Abradella Gause of Charleston WV, Horace Moore and Martha A. Moore of Longs, SC, and Generette (Sharon) of Little River, SC; her nieces and nephews whom she adored, Corey A. Gause (Undrena) of Charleston, WV, Tarik A Gause (Sachiko) of Amsterdam, NLD, Horace J. Moore (Shauntay) of Huger, SC, Rodney D. Moore of San Bernardino, CA, Laundra Y. Gause of Columbia, SC, J anice M. Moore of Little River, SC. Faith C. Ofoma and Alex G. Moore of Herndon, VA; two aunts, Mable L Greene and Gwendolyn Bryant of Longs, SC; one great aunt, Mary Nell Livingston of Longs, SC; a host of cousins and one special cousin, Sandra Sobranis who provided the gateway to Seattle WA; her many friends who became her extended family, James Blanding of Manning, SC, Lula McKinney of St. George, SC, Terryl Torrey of Seattle, WA, The Gipson family of Seattle, WA, Ruby Herron of Oklahoma, George Cloy of Washington State, and Juanita Taylor of Seattle, WA; a host of other relatives and friends.

 

 

 

Doris L. Boone of Conway passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022.  There will be a viewing held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2022, at Chesterfield Missionary Baptist Church in Longs, SC and burial will follow at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens.
