Dwayne Jay Blye

Dwayne Jay Blye was born June 16, 1960 in Atlanta City, New Jersey to the late Mr. Jefferson Blye and Mrs. Valdena Pinckney Blye of Georgetown, South Carolina. In his earlier childhood his parents returned to Georgetown where he attended Holy Cross Catholic School.

In 1978, he graduated from Howard High School in Georgetown, South Carolina.  He attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, and Horry Georgetown Technical College.

In 1998, he was joined in marriage to Mrs. Beverly Blye.  To this union, two children were born. 

Mr. Blye was employed at Horry Georgetown Technology College in Conway, South Carolina as a mail courier.  He worked for JetStream Ground Services, Inc. at the Myrtle Beach Airport as a ramp agent and for Georgetown Steel Corporation in Georgetown, South Carolina as a steel maker and conveyor.

Because of his faith in God, he united with Upon this Rock Ministries in Georgetown, South Carolina and Beach Family Worship Center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He successfully completed the curriculum of A Father's Place where he received a prestigious certificate of Gradu-Uption. 

Mr. Blye was a loving, caring, and compassionate.  He was a devoted and loving husband and father. “Rock” as he was fondly known on and off the courts.  He loved the game of basketball and played for the Howard High School Varsity.  His favorite pass time was shooting hoops and watching the games.

Mr. Blye departed this life on Friday, October 2, 2020.  To cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Beverly Blye; one daughter, Nasia Blye of Myrtle Beach, SC;  four sons, Amir Blye of Myrtle Beach, SC, Christopher Blye, Dominic Blye and William Blye of Norfolk, Virginia; one brother, Don Blye of Charlotte, North Carolina;  five grandchildren; four aunts; two uncles; along with a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Dwayne Jay Blye of Burgess passed on Friday, October 2, 2020. There will be a homegoing service 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Ocean View Funeral home the Myrtle Beach Chapel. . Ocean View Funeral Home Myrtle Beach Chapel is in charge of service arrangements.
