Edith Parker of Conway passed away on July 1, 2026.
Edith Mae Parker was born on July 20, 1943, to the union of Earl and Eva Davis in Bucksport, SC.
On Tuesday, July 1st, Edith departed this life and embraced eternal rest surrounded by her family.
Edith received her education in the Horry County School System. She gave her life to God at an early age and was a member of Victoria Chapel Church, which she enjoyed attending. Edith was employed at Blue Water Resort for many years, working alongside her best friend, Ella Bromell, who preceded her in death. She loved helping out others in any way she could. Her family was her life. She was always surrounded by children, grandchildren, and so many great-grandchildren who all referred to her as MAMA. She loved spending time with family. Edith was a loving daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, auntie, and caring friend to many. She enjoyed dancing, fishing, cooking, and listening to hours of gospel; Lee Williams in particular. But more than anything, she loved being around her family. She lived her life like it was truly golden, right to the end.
Edith is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Eva Davis; 3 brothers, Earl Davis, Elbert Davis, and Thomas Davis; 2 sisters, Gussie Lee and Betty Stevens; one grandson, Emanuel Parker, and one daughter, Celeste Parker.
Edith leaves to cherish her precious memories, 9 children, Jackie Campbell of Ohio, Gwendolyn Davis, Linda Swinton, Carolyn Rhue (Lonnie,) Georgia (Thomas) Hemingway, all of Conway, Flettie (Canute) Adams, of Ga, Howard (Raynise) Parker, Jeremiah Parker and William (Candice) Parker of Conway SC, 3 step children, Janet Myers, of Tampa,Fl, Sarah Evans of Myrtle Beach, SC, Jamie Givens of Conway, SC, 6 siblings, Robert (Nora) Davis, John (Rosetta) Davis, Isaac (Sheila) Davis, of Conway SC, Mary (Harold) Lawhorn, Delores Davis-Poles, of Rochester New York, Della Doctor, of Miami Fl, brother in law, Sammy Stevens, of Conway, 48 grandchildren, (5 raised as children) Quincy Davis, Cortreal Swinton, Bradley Swinton, Nikki Swinton and Shantell Davis, 50 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, a very special friend Johnny Dewitt and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family and dear friends who will always cherish her memory.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Victoria Chapel Church. Interment will follow in Bucksport Community Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel.
