Edna Earl Gause went to her eternal home on April 15, 2025. She was born on August 15, 1955, in Conway, SC, to the late Johnny and Ida Bell Wilson.
Edna graduated from Myrtle Beach High School in 1973. She was joined in marriage to Chapell Gause on May 3, 1985. To this marriage, they were blessed with a daughter, Korreda.
Edna had many professions throughout her life. She worked as a laundry service worker and caretaker. Within the church she was a dedicated usher, kitchen committee member, and mother. Her infectious smile would greet you at the door, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path. For those who knew, good luck catching her as she was
known as speedy gonzales and don’t talk about her Kansas City chiefs.
Her journey on this earth was one marked by love,
compassion, and unwavering faith in God. She always had an encouraging word and a testimony. She had no problem telling you to “charge your angels” or “we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood.” Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by her. She will be remembered for the profound impact she had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Chapell; her parents, Johnny and Ida Bell; Daughter, Michelle; sister, Diane; sons, Sam, William, Edward, and Chapell Jr.; and granddaughter, Destiny.
Edna leaves to cherish her sweet memories three daughters, Tunisian Wilson, Korreda Gause, and Leona Thomas; one son, Michael Wickerson; four sisters, Lois (Frankie) Spivey, Shirley (Tyrone) Simmons, Linda (Aerris) Smith, and Barbara Jean (Kirby) Smalls; two grandsons, Desmond Wilson and
Markez Wilson; two granddaughters, Te’aja Diggs and Rashana Diggs; five great-grandchildren, Talayah Diggs, Kaiden Diggs, Deztiny Wilson, Karson Wilson, and Kameron Wilson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
