Ms. Ella Louise Hemingway was born on December 31, 1963, to the late Jerry Verden Simmoms and Elouise Simmons. She entered eternal rest on Monday, March 2, 2026.
She was educated in the Horry County School District. She was a member of McNeil Chapel in Longs, South Carolina. Ella loved being with family and friends and was always the life of the party. She loved dancing, fishing, riding, and exploring, and she loved speaking her mind.
Ella was preceded in death by her son, Roy Rashonn Simmons, and her husband, Joe Davis Hemingway.
Ella leaves to love and cherish her memories her daughter, Kendra (Kelvin) Bellamy; two sisters, Cynthia Gore and Hazel Simmons; four grandchildren, Shaneshia Bellamy, Shakeria Bellamy, Kaveon Bellamy, and Jahiem Williams; four great-grandchildren, Dymani Wilson, Aria Wilson, Sha'nyia Bellamy, and Jaylen Francois; three nieces, Synthia Simmons, Julish Hemingway, and Carla Laguerre; three nephews, Durrell Simmons, Jamar Gore; and Quartis Hemingway; four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law; a special brother-in-law, Jim Gore; one special aunt, Brookie Ward; a special friend, Victoria Parker; a special cousin, Scoop Bellamy; and a host other loving relatives and friends.
