Ellis Bellamy, more famously known (and loudly introduced) as Breezy, left us on August 10, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime of laughter, unforgettable stories, and a knack for turning even the simplest moment into an adventure.
Born February 25, 1981, Breezy lived life with the belief that home wasn’t a place; it was wherever his family happened to be. That said, his heart (and his porch chair) were firmly rooted in Nakina, NC.
Breezy was the kind of person who never met a stranger, always had a joke ready, and could make a room feel lighter just by walking in. His priorities were clear: love your people, tell the best story, and never take life too seriously.
He was preceded in death by his hero, Charles Jones as well as his siblings Eugene Delong and Antoine Bellamy.
He is survived by his parents, Sherrie V. Delong and Gilbert Bellamy; his partner in everything, Jennifer Hill; his children, Brooke (Dakota) Floyd, Devante Bellamy, Kiara Washington, and Dawson Hill; His siblings Shucora V. Foye and her husband Christopher, Ebony Delong, Eric Delong, Kendra “Candy” Bellamy, Whitney Cross, and Liana Bellamy. His grandchildren Katara Campbell, Dawson C. Hill, Emma Floyd and Kaylie Floyd. He also leaves behind a large extended family and countless friends who will miss his laugh, his quick wit, and his ability to make you feel like the most important person in the room. In honor of him, laughter is required, tears are optional, and stories — the taller the better — are highly encouraged.
In true Breezy fashion, we’re not calling this “goodbye.”
We’re just saying, “See you later.”
