Elonda Bethea Obituary

Mrs. Elonda Leonard Bethea, at the age of 47, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Elonda was born on September 29, 1976 in Marion, South Carolina. She was the eldest daughter and fifth child born to the union of Elouise and George D. Leonard.

Elonda attended the public schools in Mullins, South Carolina. She was a member of Spoken Word Tabernacle Church in Scranton, South Carolina, officiated by Pastor Johnny Osborne. Elonda along with her family relocated to Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 2016. During that time, Elonda was employed with the Murfreesboro School District, Murfreesboro, Tennessee for 6 years. In 2022 Elonda began working with Cardinal Health until her health declined earlier this year. She loved working at her jobs, getting to know and spending time with co-workers. Elonda considered her co-workers her second family.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved her husband, children, and family most of all and was always willing to help in any way. Even if it was just to simply make you smile. During Elonda’s weakest moments, she never wanted anyone to worry. Her comforting words were “I’m good; God got me”.

Elonda was preceded in death by her parents, Elouise and George D. Leonard; grandparents, Anderson and Elise Johnson, Hoyt, and Lueizer Leonard; mother-in-law, Burnie Jean Johnson; father-in-law, Jimmy James Lynch; aunts and uncles, Jerry Johnson, Anderson Johnson, Mary J. Reaves, Joe S. Leonard, Mary Louise Woodberry, Susie Mae Eaddy and Wanda Leonard.

Elonda leaves to cherish her loving memories her husband, Tommie Bethea of the home; her children, Coleman Everette, Christopher Everette, and Jeremiah Bethea all of the home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Taisha (Russell) Silva of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ira Grier of Atlanta, Georgia, Jamaree Rice of Charlotte, North Carolina, Tamara (Trey) Finney of Largo Maryland; her siblings, Anthony G. (Kimaston) Leonard of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Christopher (Tiffany) Leonard of Smyrna, Tennessee, Tyrone Leonard of Florence, South Carolina, Kevin (Jessica) Leonard of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and LaKisha Leonard of Florence, South Carolina; her in-laws, Dexter (Rachel) Johnson, Lavern (Sharon) Johnson, Benjamin (Asmae) Johnson, Tara (Anthony) Washington, Coleen Johnson, and Stefanie Powell.
