I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 11 Timothy 4:7 NIV
Erick Hodge was born on October 31, 1962, in Wampee, South Carolina, to the late Polly Wilson and raised by the late JC and Stalberta Hodge. He departed this earthly life on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Grand Strand Medical Center.
Erick graduated from North Myrtle Beach High School in 1981. He furthered his education to become a certified brick mason. Erick held several jobs, but he had a passion for cooking, so he became a cook at K&W Cafeteria, where he worked until his health began to fail. Erick was very passionate about others; he would give you the shirt off his back. When he had the opportunity, he enjoyed cooking, gardening, and fishing in his free time. At an early age, Erick became a member of Mt. Zion Church in Little River. Later he became a member of Flag Patch Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a faithful choir member.
Erick was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Phillip Wilson, and one adopted sister, Julia Vereen.
He leaves cherished precious memories to four brothers, Edward (Aslean) Wilson of Longs, South Carolina, James Wilson of Little River, South Carolina, Joe (Margaret) Wilson of Texas, and Kenneth (Britanna) Wilson of Columbia, South Carolina; one adopted brother, James (Jamma) Hodge of Longs, South Carolina; his significant other, Kerry Spain of the home; one bonus daughter, Katisia Johnson; five bonus grandchildren, three special nephews, TuQuan, LaQuan, and ShaQuan Johnson of the home that he raised as his own; a bonus sister-in-love, Angela Johnson of the home; two special cousins, Ceophia and Connie Wilson; three special friends, Ray Chestnut, Kenneth Cox, and Jarvis Wilson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and dear friends. All of whom will miss him dearly.
