Deacon Esau Greene, Jr.

Alpha: January 4, 1959 ~ Omega: October 31, 2021

Deacon Esau Greene Jr., affectionally known to most as “June” was born to the marital union of Esau Greene Sr., and Mrs. Alice Rebecca Funnye Greene on January 4, 1959, in Georgetown, SC. His parents and 5 brothers, Joe Franklin, Calvin, Tommy, Richard, and William Greene, and one nephew, Carlos, and one grandson, Markel Gerald, all preceded him in death.

Deacon Greene was educated in the public schools of Georgetown County and attended Choppee High School. He worked for several restaurants in the Myrtle Beach area and AVX. In 1986 he moved to Rochester, NY where he worked at Wegman's and Marble by Medusa.

In 1996 he married Dorothy L. Gerald.

Deacon Greene union moved to Conway SC in 1998, where he resided and worked at Created Marble, Walmart, Outer Limit, and Big D restaurant in Conway, SC.

God called him home on Sunday, October 31, 2021, surrounded by HIS loved ones, and friends.

Deacon Greene leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife Dorothy Greene; 3 children: Margo Gerald, Tamika Jackson, and Dontest Gerald; 6 sisters: Mattie Greene of Georgetown SC, Dorothy Greene of Myrtle Beach, SC, Almenia Nesmith (John), Mary Robinson, and Theopie Greene (Musa), all of Rochester, NY, Donna Jackson (Jerry) of Corning NY: 3 brothers: James Greene (Barbara) of Conway, SC, Issac Greene (Alice) of Georgetown, SC, Michael Greene of Rochester, NY: Sister in law, Ms. Sally Gerald and Brother in law, John Gerald, both of Rochester, NY;  1 aunt, Sadie Greene of Rochester, NY; 5 grandchildren: Kevin, Garera, Ta’mya, Christian, and Zy’mere of Fayetteville, NC; 4 great-grandchildren of Fayetteville, a host of nieces, nephews, loving relative, and friends.

Esau Greene, Jr. of Conway passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021. There will be a visitation held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Bethlehem Refuge Church in Conway. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2021, at St. Paul AME Church Cemetery. Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel will be assisting this family.
