For 29 years, she worked as a Teacher/Social Worker at Waccamaw EOC Head Start. Esterlean worked to help provide education access to many families in the Georgetown, Williamsburg, and Horry counties. Teaching wasn't just a job; it was something that she was very passionate about, and she loved being able to impart knowledge and give love to children.
[Text Box:] As an original member of the Pee Dee Community Project Committee, she was instrumental in establishing a community center and park. For many years, she served as a Poll Worker at the local polling station. She had a deep belief in the voting process.
Esterlean had a love for reading and the only sport she loved was baseball. Her favorite teams were the Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees, and the Los Angeles Dodgers. She played softball with the community team and shared this pastime with her children and grandchildren. She kept her mind sharp by watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and College Bowl.
