Florine Alston Gardner

Mrs. Florine Allton-Gardner known by close family and friends as "Punk'" was born on October 4, I949 in Myrtle Beach, SC. She was the beloved daughter of Elnita M. Alston and the late Alford Alston.

Florine attended the Myrtle Beach Colored School and Whittemore High School. After high school, Florine met the love of her life, the late Mr. William Curtis Gardner of Baltimore, Maryland and to this union three children were born, Marlon, Keisha, and Karla.

Florine enjoyed coming home every summer for over 50 years and spending time with family. She loved eating soul food, steamed blue crabs, making her famous crab cakes, and having a cold beer.

Florine was adored and very much loved by her family and will be deeply missed. She will be in our hearts and memories forever.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alford Alston; four brothers, Charlie Alston, Allen Alston, Ronnie Alston, and Wilbert Lee Bland.

She leaves to cherish loving memories her mother, Elnita M. Alston; one brother, Earl (Dionne) Alston; four sisters, Gloria (Levi) Alston, Sylvia Smalls, Cassandra (Glenn) Campbell, and Marcherle (Larry) Bellamy all of Myrtle Beach, SC; three children, Marlon (Michelle) Gardner, Karla (Angelo) Laparade, and Keisha (Harrell) Gardner all of Baltimore, Maryland; one aunt, Rebbecca Simmons; three uncles, Luke (Lucille) Mitchell, Bobbie Jean Simmons, and James Albritton, all of Myrtle Beach, SC; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Alston of Patterson, NJ; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Myrtle Beach Chapel.
