Flossie Harris-Chestnut was born on February 06, 1952, in Norfolk VA but relocated to Myrtle Beach in the late 80's. She was the second youngest out of 7 children. Flossie predeceased by her parents Ceil Ratlliff Harris and Laura Bell Ratliff of Norfolk, VA her (2 brothers) Cecil Harris of Norfolk VA, Johnny Harris of Myrtle Beach SC and 1 Sister Laura Johnson of Norfolk VA. She was also predeceased by her lifetime best friend (Pastor Betty Ann Jackson)
Flossie Chestnut is married to Pastor Dennis Chestnut for 35 Years. Flossie was educated in the Norfolk Public School system. She would go back to retrieve her High School Diploma from Horry Country Educational school system. Flossie was a loving, kindhearted and God-Fearing women, who gave her life to Christ about 40 years ago. She would become part of Pentecostal Church of God in Norfolk VA. She would serve as a devoted missionary and member of the church until she relocated. Flossie would become a member of the Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she would remain a member
Flossie worked for many years as a deli/baker and housekeeper She loved taking care of others. Rather it be cooking, cleaning, or assisting any way she can. Flossie loved cooking and having gathered for her family. After becoming ill, Flossie continued to fight the good fight. She was always in good spirits no matter what was going on. She would always have a smile when the family would come and visit her She didn't let the illness discourage her faith. She would want us to remember to have Faith in God and pray.
Flossie departed her earthly home and entered her spiritual life, leaving behind her loving and supporting husband of 35 years Dennis Chestnut (Pastor). Her 3 Daughters Sandra Harris (Tee) of Conway SC, Felicia (Fee) Harris Williams (James Williams), of Longs SC and Latisha Harris Isaac (Hector) of Darlington. Her 2 honorary sons Terry Frinks (Dump) of Longs SC and Charles McDonald (Wayne) of Conway SC. Her 12 grandchildren, Tae (Trish), Jamal (Juwan), Naynay, Quan, Yas, TJ, Anyla, Shahid, Tim, CJ, Omi and Chavy. 3 great grandchildren Jayden, Yana, and Mani. Flossie Chestnut of Myrtle Beach passed away Friday, January 21, 2022. There will be a visitation held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Friday, January 28, 2022, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Myrtle Beach Chapel. There will be a funeral service held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Sandy Grove Missionary Baptist Church Burial will follow at Pine Island Community Cemetery.
