Frances Ann Washington Gore age 83, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, surrounded by her son and grandsons.
Frances was the third child to the late Clyde and Jannie Gore. At an early age she gave her life to Christ, and her roots in her faith were deep and strong.
She met the love of her life, Herman "Wash” Washington in 1966 while he was stationed at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. In 1968 they were joined in marriage. Years later they gave birth to their one and only child Fritz.
Frances was employed with the Department of Defense for 15 years, starting her career at Myrtle Beach Airforce Base and ending at McQuire Airforce Base in 1990.
After returning home to the Brooksville area, she was employed with the Horry County School District for 20 years.
Retiring from work in 2010 she focused her life on caring for her aging mother. Her true love was spending time with her son and grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Jannie Gore, and a sister, Myrtle Davis.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving son, Fritz Washington of Columbia, SC, five loving grandsons, Shakeem Washington of Conway, SC, Malik Washington of Columbia, SC, Aamir Washington of Columbia, SC, Devonte McBride of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Omar Washington of Columbia, SC; three great grandchildren, Cameron "Cam" Washington, Malik "Leeky" Washington, and Sincere Washington; a sister, Barbara Fields of Brooksville, SC; and a brother, Clyde Gore of Columbia, SC; and many nieces and nephews.
