Geneva V. Grissett of Little River passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024.
Mrs. Geneva Victoria Stanley Grissett was born February 1, 1928, in Little River, SC to the late Mr. Robert “Bob” and Nela Bellamy She graduated from Wampee High School. She worked for many years in the housekeeping industry and was meticulous in details. As well as being committed to her job, she was equally committed to her home, family, and church. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who gave of herself unselfishly.
She was joined in holy matrimony on June 4, 1948, to Foster C. Grissett, and to this union they were blessed with eight children. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, four children, two brothers, four sisters, one grandson, and two daughters-in-law. At an early age she was converted and baptized and became a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church. She remained a committed and dedicated member until her illness was not permit. She served faithfully on the Ushers Ministry.
She leaves behind a cherished legacy in her children: Larry, Mt. Pleasant; Izell (Charlotte) Longs; Nelson (Dora) and Willie Joe (Sheila) Little River. She also leaves eighteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. She is survived by one sister Lucille Batts of North Myrtle Beach, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and a special friend Mae Bell Bellamy. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Mt. Calavy #2. Interment will follow in St. Paul Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, North Strand Chapel.
