Gerald Lee Manner

Gerald Anthony Manner was born in Conway, SC to the late John Manner and the late Willie Mae Dixon Benford but he was raised by his maternal grandparents, the late Willie and Lottie Dixon.

Gerald worked for Maryland Fried Chicken for 30 years and Conway Medical Center for the last 3 years.

Gerald was a graduate of the class of 1978 from Conway High School and a graduate of St. Paul College in Lawrenceville, Va., where he played football for both high school and college.

Preceding him in death along with his parents and grandparents, are his brothers, Colden Benford, Charlie Benford (Melinda), Harvey Dixon (Wendlin)

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Tammie Allen Manner, one daughter, Shantavios Gerell Manner of Conway, SC, 3 grandchildren, Omonte McCleod, Omaree Manner-McCleod, and Ga’Miracle Manner all of Conway, SC, 3 sisters, Crystal Greene of Conway, SC, Sandra Benford,  Fuquay of Varina, NC and Mary Barkston (Willie) of Roosevelt, NY 5 sisters-in-law, Monica Brown (Freddy), Shirlene Dukes (Richard), Elizabeth Felder (MC), Davena Hill (Rev. Steven) and Sade Steele. Special friends, Jesse Brown, Earl Hill, Rico Johnson, Kenneth Jordan, and Douglas Palmer.  A host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Friday, August 27, 2021, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel. Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel will be assisting the Manner family.
