Gertha R. Fernandez

Apostle Gertha R. Fernandez of Tabor City passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course: I have kept the faith, henceforth is laid up for me a crown of righteousness. Which the lord the righteous judge, shall give me on that day and not to all me, but to all of them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4: 7-8

Gertha Rose Fernandez was born on January 6, 1970 in Loris, SC to Cora L. Gause and the late Milton R. Gause, Sr. She gained her wings and transitioned over to her new home on January 1, 2025. Gertha was a 1989 graduate of North Myrtle Beach High School. She accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Saviour at an early age. She joined Popular AME Church where she was a faithful member singing on the choir and with the Traveling Angels group. God called Gertha to Freedom Deliverance Centre in the early 2000’s and she served as youth choir director. Gertha was licensed on July 31, 2005 to preach under the covenant of Freedom Deliverance Centre. She was ordained under the covenant of Liberty Covenant Fellowship in 2018. Gertha accepted her calling as a Prophetess and was elevated as an Apostle serving in the kingdom with a prophetic apostolic anointing. Gertha was employed with Horry County Schools as a secretary, bus driver and teacher for twenty-seven years until she retired. She also was employed at Long Bay Youth Enrichment Center, Lil Dreamers Day Care and a foster mother to many. On September 4, 2017, Gertha married the love of her life, Joseph D. Fernandez. Gertha and Joseph in 2018 founded New Kingdom Deliverance Ministries, Tabor City, NC. Gertha was a faithful servant at New Kingdom Deliverance Ministries as a Prophetess, Pastor and Apostle until she transitioned to her new home. Gertha was preceded in death by her father, Milton R. Gause, Sr.; her grandparents, Spencer Gause, Sr., Ronnie Gause and N. J. Bellamy; one aunt, Mary Vereen; one uncle, Ruben Gause; and one sister-in-law, Marie Fernandez. Gertha leaves loving and cherished memories to her husband, Joseph D. Fernandez of the home; her mother, Cora Gause of Longs, SC; her brother, Milton (Keywanna) Gause, Jr. of Supply, NC; her sister, Carolina (Caundray) Buckman of Longs, SC; sister-in-law, Prophetess Stephanies Thomas of Tabor City, NC; two brothers-in-law, Carlos (Vivian) Fernandez of Sumter, SC and Kawasil (Grace) Gregory of New York; three children, Tieshem, Davon and Breonna; seven grandchildren, Kaumane, Tristen, Tieshem, Kiylee, Harmonia, Alana and Tymir, grandmother, Flossie Pinckney of Longs, SC; seven aunts, Betty Keel, Annie M. Gause, Roxie Claridy, Apostle Joyce (Charles) Price, Mary Gibson, Joysie Mae Gowins and Linda Bellamy all of Longs, SC; five uncles, Bennie Vaught, Spencer (Lucille) Gause, Jr., Troy (Zelda) Bellamy, DentusBellamy all of Longs, SC, and Timothy (Allanna) Bellamy of Winston Salem, NC; special nieces and nephews, Timothy, Essences, Shyrill, Dominique, Keviontay, Milton “Trey”, Christopher, Diarra and Ja’sir; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

  Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Freedom Deliverance Center Church.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, North Strand Chapel.
