Gloria Jean Skipper

Gloria Jean Skipper of Conway passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. 

Gloria Jean Skipperdaughter of the late Reverend Van Skipper, Sr., and the late Ollie Mae Bessent Skipper was born on February 3, 1963, in Conway, South Carolina. God in His infinite wisdom decided to speak the name of Gloria Skipper and she was called home to rest from her labor on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

Gloria attended the public schools of Horry County and was a 1981 graduate of Conway High School. She was employed for more than 20 years at Conway Medical Center in the Dietary Department.

She was a dedicated mother to her children, a loving sister to her siblings, and a devoted friend.

Along with her parents, Gloria is preceded in death by her sister, Hilda Mae Skipper.

Precious memories of Gloria will be remembered by her son, Thomas Middleton, and her daughter, Brittney Skipper both of Conway, South Carolina; her sister, Ballery Skipper of Conway, South Carolina; two brothers, Van Skipper of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Marvin Skipper of Conway, South Carolina; two nieces, Tamikia Skipper and Michelle Skipper; two nephews, Shelton Skipper and Van Skipper III; a special lifetime friend, Annette Alston, along with a host of great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.  Interment will follow at Skipper-Spain Cemetery.  There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Friday, October 6, 2023, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel.
