Henry Lee Knox-Johnson affectionately known as ‘Tada’ was the son of the late Herbert Knox and Marion Pressley-Knox. He was born on July 28, 1951 in Georgetown, South Carolina. After the demise of his biological parents, Henry Lee was adopted by Rosa Knox-Johnson and Zeke Johnson. He departed this life on Friday, February 28, 2020.
Henry Lee attended Whittemore Park High School but completed his education through the Job-Corp Program in Tennessee. Henry Lee worked in various restaurants in the Murrells Inlet/Myrtle Beach area until he retired.
Henry Lee was a member at St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church where he served under the leadership of Reverend Carolyn Braxton.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Emma Johnson, Selina Johnson, LaWanda Nesbit, Antonio Johnson and Kenneth Simmons all of Myrtle Beach, SC; Valildra (Chris) Brown of Rock Hill, SC; La’Cresia Stanley of Raleigh, NC and Bruce Johnson (Zainab) of Gambia, Africa
Grandchildren: Quindashia McCallum, Tre’Darius McCallum, Daquan Simmons, Mohamed Johnson, Jabari Lynch, Jiyahh Lynch, Nazir Johnson, Jaserie Johnson, Marquasia Johnson, Donique Johnson, LaDorian Alston, Dahvier Alston, Jhalil Nesbit, Jamarie Nesbit, JaNiyas Nesbit, Jameelah Nesbit, Tayvon Stanley, Tajaneh Green, Torrion Stanley, Kendall Simmons, Kenneth Simmons, Kayden Simmons and Jaylen Simmons
Great-grandchildren: Amari Johnson, Asher Johnson, Nastacia Johnson and Elijah Nesbit, Jordan Herriot and Jace Alston
Henry Lee ‘Tada’ will also be missed by his siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Henry Johnson passed Friday February 28, 2020 in Myrtle Beach. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday March 5, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Mason Temple Cogic in Conway SC. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday March 4, 2020 at the Myrtle Beach Chapel. Burial will be held at Heavens Gate Cemetery in Murrells Inlet.
