Henry Magellan Wilds

Henry Magellan Wilds was born on January 30, 1948, in the “Tin Top Alley” section of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to the late James Henry Wilds and Margaret Marie Miller Wilds on January 30, 1948. Henry peacefully entered into eternal rest on November 13, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength that will forever live in the hearts of all who knew him. 

Henry was educated in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, public school system, where he attended Carver Elementary School, and in Conway, South Carolina, where he attended Whittemore High School. 

Henry subsequently left home and moved to Patterson, New Jersey, where he lived for many years with his hometown friends from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He worked various jobs throughout his lifetime. 

After suffering a major stroke, Henry moved to Plainfield, New Jersey, where he resided with his sister for many years and attended Calvary Baptist Church on a regular basis for worship. Because of his illness, Henry relocated to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where multiple family members were able to assist in caring for him before he was admitted into Oak View Nursing Home in Conway, South Carolina. He enjoyed all types of sports, but his favorite sport was softball. With his large hands, opponents were certain any balls thrown to him were bound to be caught. 

Henry was preceded in death by his sister, Wanda White. He leaves to cherish his memory two children, Deacon Kareem (Pastor Bridgett) Easton, and Kandice Easton; eight grandchildren, Tahonnajee J. Easton, Daryl J. Easton, Ayh’Zhane N. Hill, Bruce L. Hill, Jr., Latriba McKnight, Shakeem Boile, Crystl Boile, and Nahnasia Sumter; his siblings, Peggy Wilds, Beatrice Brown, Terry Wilds, and Cynthia Golson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great great-nieces, cousins other relatives and friends.
