Isadora Mack

Isadora Mack of the Burgess Community passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024. 

Isadora Mack was born on October 17, 1947, in the Burgess Community of South Carolina to the late Jessie Mack and Dollie Mack. She departed this life peacefully at home on Thursday, May 2, 2024.

She attended the public schools in Horry County, South Carolina, and later moved to Albany, New York, and graduated from Albany High School.

Isadora was a member of the Mt. Zion A.M.E Church since September 1991 and served as an usher in her earlier years. Ms. Mack was employed with the Horry County School District at St. James Elementary and Burgess Elementary and retired after 30 years. She loved caring for children especially her grandchildren, which she helped raise all of them. She had a love for her house plants, cooking, cleaning, and taking care of her home.

She leaves to cherish sweet memories one son, Derrick Mack of Conway, South Carolina; a daughter, Ranika Mack of Raleigh, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Shante Mack, Vanessa Mack, Kayla Mack, and Derrick Mack Jr. (DJ); one great-grandchild; Jordan Randall; five sisters, the oldest Maxine (Taze) Rutledge, Inez Holness, Janie Russell, Diane (Mike) Hall of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Marie Mack of Raleigh, North Carolina; a special aunt, Betty Williams of Albany, New York, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special cousin, Lloyd Carr preceded her in death.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 10, 2024, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Myrtle Beach Chapel.  Interment will follow in Heaven's Gate Cemetery, Murrells Inlet.  There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Myrtle Beach Chapel.
