James Franklin Allen

James Franklin “Romeo” Allen, son of the late Revell and Earleen Allen was born on January 29, 1954, in Conway, South Carolina. He departed this earthly life on Sunday, November 3, 2024.

He attended the public schools of Horry County and worked until he was disabled as a log truck driver. He loved music, watching western TV shows, the Rifleman and Gunsmoke.

James was joined in holy matrimony to Evelyn G. Allen on July 6, 1981, and this union was blessed with three children.

His wife of 42 years, Evelyn “Pat” Allen; brother, Elwood Allen and sister, Kaye Allen, all preceded him in death.

The life and legacy of James will be cherished and remembered by his children, Jamie (Bryan) Winns of Conway, SC, Diamese Allen and fiancé Donnell Davis of Columbia, SC and James (Callie) Allen of Conway, SC; his siblings, Wayne Allen of Waverly, GA, Carol Allen of Conway, SC, Kenneth Allen of Oak Grove, KY, Leverne (Jackie) Allen of Longs, SC, Timmy (Audrey) Allen of Conway, SC, David Allen of Conway, SC, Deloris (Ronald) Johnson of Conway, SC, and Johnny (Stacy) Allen of Tabor City, NC; grandchildren, Ja’Quail Williams, Kamron McCray, Asia Richardson, Bryan Winns, III, Jamion Winns, Semaj Allen, Jazmine Winns, Makenzie Todd, Jai Weaver and Maleah Allen; his brothers-in-law, Donald (Al) Gagum of Palm Bay, FL, Nathaniel (Wilma) Gagum of Bucksport, SC and Bobby (Kathleen) Kinlaw of Baltimore, MD.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel.

The family will receive friends today through Wednesday at the home of his daughter's home at 3300 Longwood Lane, Conway, SC 29527.
