James Baine Obituary

James Paul Baine, 57,  passed away on July 10, 2024, due to sepsis and chronic kidney failure. His loss is completely unexpected and his family is profoundly saddened. While we mourn the loss, we take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering and in constant pain.

James was born on June 23, 1967, to Roberta and John Baine in the beloved city of Chicago, Illinois.  James was one of five children: Chris, Chuck, Ken, Robbie, and Natalie.  Jim was very passionate about cooking. His passion came from his mother.  When he was a child, he would love to cook all day with her in the kitchen making traditional Norwegian dishes.  Jim later became an Executive Chef, in which he worked in various Assisted Living Centers in Illinois for 31 years.  As it became harder for Jim to do some of the traditional Norwegian dishes, he strived to keep his heritage alive by passing the knowledge along to the younger generations.  Jim has trained many staff over the years.  He was always willing to take the time to teach anyone who wanted to learn.

On April 09, 2017, Jim married Lucinda Bronk and resided in Crystal Lake, Illinois for seven years.  On July 28, 2023, Jim and Lucinda moved to South Carolina and resided in Myrtle Beach.  Jim enjoys music, and movies, sitting in his Oasis, wearing shorts year-round, and participating in activities at the clubhouse with other residents.  Jim always had a soft spot for all animals.  He routinely would feed the ducks and turtles in the pond daily and enjoyed his two boys, Randy Rhodes and Bandit.

Jim was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He is survived by his wife, Lucinda Baine, and stepchildren Cody Bronk (Grace), Sean Bronk, Hannah Bronk (Keith), his granddaughter Adaline Bronk, his mother Roberta, siblings: Ken, Natalie, Robbie, Chris, and Chuck and their spouses and nieces and nephews.

His departure comes at a great shock and a deep wound and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply in his wide-network community.
