James Herriott, III Obituary

Psalms 3:8 Salvation belongs to the Lord; your blessings be on your people.

On Friday evening his favorite day, December 25, 2020, God sent his most fierce Angel Michael to MUSC Hospital in Charleston, SC to bring home a street warrior and family/friend protector James Edward Herriott III affectionally known as “Jimmy” to his heavenly home for rest. Jimmy was a star football player at Myrtle Beach High School and was known by many in the community as tough but loving person, who acknowledge everyone and respected all the people in the community.  His light shined with his smile, humor and happiness to his family, friends and community; this in the indelible mark that Jimmy left on the community.  Jimmy loved his people; he had your back and he protected you!

James “Jimmy” Herriott was born on Oct 2, 1966 to the late James Herriott, Jr. and Melvina Herriott-McCree in Myrtle Beach, SC. Jimmy was a construction and restaurant worker and helped his father and Uncle Mack on several construction projects. This knowledge was applied to managing and assisting his brother Israel Herriott in building a beautiful beach home on Hemingway St. in Myrtle Beach on the Hill his final project.

James “Jimmy” Herriott leaves to cherish his memories his close most loyal and devoted brother Israel Herriott, his loving sister and comforter Sharon Herriott and his big brother and Ace Dr. Norbert Herriott. Just like a brother, Ronnie “Cadillac” Graves and Frank “Kip” Grissett. Just like a sister Lorraine Austin. Jimmy was united in matrimony to Rochell Ransom Herriott, Mother-in Law Betty J. Ransom, two stepsons Bradley (Wife Evelyn) and Avery Ransom. Like a daughter Yalanda Spain-Holmes. Jimmy leaves a host of nieces and nephews: his closest and most loving niece Feliciana Herriott, Liencia Funny, Shantel Mitchell, Heaven Herriott, Imunique Herriott, Goddess Herriott and Latemia Thomas-Herriott (San Antonio, TX). His loving nephews: Bailey Washington, Ishmell Herriott, Evert Herriott (El Paso, TX) and Jamal Herriott (San Antonio, TX). His close cousins Eula Mae Mack, Latisha Singleton and Ashley Mack, Selena Williams, Evelyn Herriott, Vincent Herriott, and Floyd Herriott.
